Wick Video Is Joining Sticker Mule

Over the past 6 months, we’ve done quite a lot of work for Sticker Mule.

In case you haven’t heard of them, they make stickers. Custom stickers. And their ordering process is the best you'll find from any online printing company.

Walk into any startup or co-working space and you’ll be sure to see at least a 12 laptops decorated with stickers made by Sticker Mule.

One part of what makes their user experience so awesome, is how they're using video. And as they continue to launch new products and new brands, including Button Frog, their opportunity to use video will only get bigger.

Instead of continuing to outsource their video needs to us, they decided to hire me full-time to bring Wick Video's video production capabilities in-house. I couldn't be more excited!

What does this mean for Wick Video?

While I'm at Sticker Mule, Wick Video will no longer be accepting new clients or projects. Any current projects will be completed, business as usual. And if you need revisions on a previous project, we can still help you there.

Justin will be joining me at Sticker Mule, while Breton will continue his career elsewhere.

I still own the brand and the company, and you might see a post every once in a while, but as a Sticker Mule employee I will be 100% committed to helping Sticker Mule grow. I may come back to Wick Video one day down the road, but not unless my job at Sticker Mule is finished.

Why Am I Doing This?

Financially, Wick Video has been doing great and we just finished our fourth consecutive year of growth. So you're probably wondering why I've decided to leave my business, work for someone else, and focus all my attention on selling stickers...

Reason #1 - I believe in Sticker Mule.

Sticker Mule isn't really a sticker company - it's an e-commerce, custom manufacturing, tech business. They have an incredibly smart and talented team, and there is so much room for growth.

They're also a very metics-driven company. As a marketer, this gets me really excited. I'll now have a huge playground to test my skills and experience. And instead of judging a video on how cool I think it is, we'll be able to judge videos based on how they actually impact the business.

Reason #2 - Sticker Mule believes in me.

At Wick Video, I've had to sell our clients on the idea of hiring us. And once I did that, I still had to sell them on our ideas for the script, then our ideas for the storyboard, then our ideas for the animation. Sometimes this process was smooth. Other times it dragged on for months.

At Sticker Mule, I'll be the one in charge of producing videos. There will still be a healthy feedback loop, but overall I'll have a lot more creative freedom. This means there will be less hoops to jump through and we'll start cranking out videos at lightning speeds.

Reason #3 - I get to stay in Colorado.

I just moved to Colorado, and it would be a shame to pack up everything and leave. Luckily I won't have to. While the headquarters is in New York, most of the Sticker Mule team works remotely - and I'll be doing the same.

In fact, most of the Customer Support team is spread out throughout Colorado. Go Colorado!

Thanks for All the Support

I'm incredibly lucky to have worked with so many great people and so many cool companies over the last four years.

Really excited for this new chapter.
